Cyril Debon

Une belle journée

June 2021

Cyril Debon devoted his two-month residency to tracing a path through the gardens of Le Marais. Offering a sylvan stroll for the solitary walker along the ceramics that he placed in the landscape.

Strongly inspired by his immersion in the bucolic setting of the domain, his artistic intention focused on exploring the animal world, creating figures of bats, frogs and dachshunds. This playful fauna stands alongside other ceramics from previous series of the artist which bring together culinary art and furniture design.

Cyril's residency was placed under the sign of a joyful conclusion, repeated day after day: ‘It was a beautiful day !’. Far from being an empty statement, it is an invitation to enjoy everyday life, which ultimately defines his whole exhibition, Une belle journée.
